Quite possibly the most underrated striker in modern era, Icardi is everything you expected to see from a goal getter: nothing more, and nothing less. You won't see a graceful touches nor a mesmeric skill associated with modern forward from Icardi - he's a purist, give him a chance to finish and he will score.

And that's the problem, if the team is lacking in creativity, Icardi's impact would be abysmal to almost nothing. This is also the reason his time in national team doesn't work out - he needs a team who's built around him, and not otherwise. So Icardi is struggling to fit in a team which was built around Messi - both have tendencies to work very little off the ball, and Argentina became vulnerable against opponent with high intensity.

Same thing can be said about his time in Paris. His arrival rise the goal scoring potential of the team, though with endearing consequences as they look visibly unbalanced at times.
