A fabulous talent, and a hero who brings the World Cup winning goal for Germany in 2014. Gotze was seen as the future of Germany early in his career, and by looking at his talent, it's hard to say not. Having made a breakthrough at the age of just 18, He's immediately taken the Bundesliga by storm, showing incredible close control, dribbling and decisiveness which were reminiscent of Messi. As things developing, he began to acquired skills which made him a complete player, and a sense of maturity well beyond his age. By 2013, he's already regarded as one of the best player in the world, with two Bundesliga titles and a famous, fearsome reputation as part of the Dortmund trio alongside Marco Reus and Robert Lewandowski. After a shocking move to Bayern (and having made himself missed the Champions League Final for a possibly mutual consent), the future looks bright for Gotze, yet the reality speaks differently.

Having been an object of experimentation by the National Team and Guardiola (by deploying him in various positions across the front line), his development begins to stagnate, even as early as in his mid 20s. The guy looks running out of gas and out of place in Bayern, and a world beater potential that he has beginning to fade away. Seeing a young player failed to reached his full potential is quite common to be seen, yet witnessing it from such a magnificent talent is quite frankly painful. If only he had a few more years under Jurgen Klopp, he might have become a player he promised to be, a technically gifted, complete, and aggressive attacking midfielder capable of combining force and beauty.
