A talented young player who was brought up by Manchester United academy, Gibson was expected to be the next Paul Scholes in his youth. He has similar traits indeed with Scholesy, as seen from exceptional passing skills and quality long range shots. The difference was that Gibson is also a big guy, who offers incredible physicality that was well beyond his age. He never got close to Scholes level though, due to some off field issues and injuries that kept hampering him. But he still managed to showcase a glimpse of his talent in mid 20s, particularly in Champions League nights.
