A brilliant young forward who became one of the most surprising player in the 2022 World Cup, Alvarez has the energy and grit which was lacking in the front line of Argentina squad. He was not only bringing that to the table though, but also showed great finesse and maturity in front of goal that was clearly beyond his tender age. I personally think he was a more deserving recipient of young player of the tournament award. Alvarez is a relentless forward who's willing to do the dirty job, a perfect partner for Messi who's clearly doesn't have the energy anymore to make frontline pressure to the opponent. Apart form that, he has a great technical quality for a striker, makes him one of the most complete player in his position.
