One of the most improved player of the 2024-2025 season, Ryan Gravenberch finally gets the recognition he deserved after giving stellar performances with Liverpool under Arne Slott's guidance. Liverpool who were in desperate needs of holding midfielder curiously didn't make any new signing at the beginning of the season. This passive approach toward the transfer window made me think that Endo would continue to be a starter for the upcoming season, yet turns out the reality is much much different from what I expect. Instead of that, Slott made a genius move by deploying Gravenberch in holding midfield position as a No. 6, and therefore unleashing his potential.

Gravenberch instantly becoming a calming and composed presence in midfield, controlling games with ease such that you wouldn't believe he's only 22. Gravenberch looks sort of born to play that role, with his ball retention and work rate really fit the archetype of a No. 6. His passing quality was never questionable since his days at Ajax, and during the 2024-2025 season he remains reliable and consistent with his passing, though never really shown anything special yet. By elevating his game, Gravenberh became a player he should've become from the start of his career at Ajax: A very talented, multi dimensional midfielder who's reliable enough to put in any team due to his consistency. With a long career remains ahead of him, we could expect big things from this player, he's certainly the one to watch for the remainder of this decade. He's certainly up there with Joao Neves for the place of the best build up player in the world.
