Question mark arise when Barcelona decided to replace Ibrahimovic with Villa, as he's a natural CF who mostly played there through his whole career - some argue he might not fit in his new team, where Lionel Messi is expected to occupy the central attacking area as a false nine.
Turns out, the move did become successful. Villa was placed in an inside forward role on the left, and the attacking trio consisted of Messi-Pedro-Villa became one of the best in Barcelona history. Villa, with his composure and technicality on the ball, capable of drawing attention and free up spaces for the other two to exploit - and vice versa. Those little interchange of passes and movement between the three would confuse the opposition - the front three was always playing with fluidity and clever use of space between the lines and behind the defenders.
The signing of Villa turns out to be a success in the end, though his influence somewhat more limited than his time in Valencia - and rightly so, he was no longer the main man. But there's no argument that he did have a decent spell at Barcelona, and showed us what he's all about - a striker with genius attacking mind, with great technique and prolific goal scoring ability.
